Cardinal Awarded SIA Approved Contractor Scheme Status (ACS)
Cardinal Security has been awarded Approved Contractor Scheme status by the SIA ahead of the all important March 20th deadline, providing added assurance to its loyal staff and clients.
The SIA licensing scheme has created a challenging environment for the security industry and the March 20th deadline has focused minds in the manned guarding industry. Within Cardinal a project team was created to ensure staff were entered into the licensing process and these efforts have been rewarded and recognised by the award of SIA Approved Contractor Scheme status (ACS).
By achieving ACS status prior to March 20th 2006, Cardinal can continue to operate fully within the law without requiring 100% of its officers to be in possession of a license. Full details of the scheme and its advantages to customers and staff can be reviewed on the
SIA website.
Jason Trigg, Managing Director, picks up the story:
"Cardinal has faced many challenges since the business started in 2000 but we realised early-on that the SIA licensing scheme would markedly change our industry and for the better. It was clear to us that to survive and prosper we needed to commit and to move quickly.
Thanks to some herculean efforts by our project team and front line staff, we received notification of our ACS status from the SIA today. Naturally the news was met with some relief. I am personally delighted with the results achieved by our staff and would like to thank them again for their sterling efforts.
However, we cannot and will not rest on our laurels. We are now focused on completing the licensing process and ensuring our staff and customers are not affected by the inevitable difficulties that the industry faces in the formative first months of the licensed era."
