The UK’s fastest growing end-to-end security solution provider had been called upon to look after the famous silverware as well as soccer ‘royalty’ including Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Paul Merson who had gathered for the 15th charity Football Extravaganza at the Hilton in Park Lane, London.

The glittering evening which also included celebrity guests Mick Hucknall and film director Ken Loache raised more than £400,000 for Nordoff Robbins, a charity that harnesses music to reach children whose lives have been constrained by illness.

The money was raised by a celebrity auction where guests including many of the UK High Street’s leading retailers bid for football memorabilia and art works, including a painting created for the evening that incorporated a hand print by French football legend and latter-day film star Eric Cantona.

Diane Johnson, Managing Director of Cardinal, said: “It was our pleasure to contribute the security for the evening free of charge. It was an honour to attend and watch over the guests and the Carling Cup which we also escorted to and from the FA. This is a well established charity evening that has raised almost £4 million for this outstanding cause over the years as well as being a lot of fun for the guests.”

“It was all in a day’s work for our personnel, but as guests we were all a little star-struck,” she added.
